Our Funds

Congregation B’nai Shalom has several funds that support and enrich the needs of the congregation. We thank you for thinking of us, whether to honor the memory of a loved one, express gratitude, mark a special occasion, and to help us enhance the experience of community that we seek to provide. We welcome donations by both mail and online. We have a number of funds which support our congregation's mission and building through a variety of programs. For a list of our funds go to Dedicated Fund List. You can make a donation to one of those designated funds by completing the form at the bottom of this page. 

Honors and Memorials

There are many ways to commemorate a special lifecycle event, or remember a loved one. Our beautiful Tree of Life in the lobby is a way to mark a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, a graduation, or just to express thanks. We can also dedicate a copy of our Shabbat Prayer Book, Mishkan T'filah, or our High Holy Days Prayer Books with an inscription.

In addition, many remember a loved one through a Yahrtzeit plaque on our Memorial Wall, which will be illuminated annually on the anniversary of your loved one's death.

We’ve always relied on fundraising to balance our budget. Membership commitment and religious school tuition don’t cover it all. Fundraising is always important to our community, and we thank all who are able to donate to this annual appeal.

Project Share and ARZA

Some members of our congregation honor us this year by making an additional donation along with their annual commitment to Project Share, which assists our congregation to maintain programming and help those members of our community facing financial charges. Others also choose to support ARZA, the American Reform Zionist Association, which supports the Reform movement in Israel.

Scrip

Scrip is another way of helping Congregation B’nai Shalom meet its annual fundraising needs. This program provides you with an opportunity to buy gift cards for weekly supermarket shopping, restaurants, clothing and sports stores, coffee shops, movie theaters, hotels, and more. You pay nothing extra for the cards, and the congregation receives anything from 2-15% of the face value of your purchase. You can download our scrip order form here, and if you want to pay online, please use our miscellaneous payment form, and indicate scrip in the notes box. Making Scrip purchase into a monthly practice makes a significant contribution to our annual fundraising and we are very grateful to all who participate in this program.
